dr reinicke Dr. Eva Reinicke, DVM

Dr. Reinicke grew up on a small farm in New York State where her family grew organic vegetables and had an assortment of farm animals. She completed undergrad at Earlham College in 2007 and took several jobs in environmental education before deciding to become a veterinarian. She graduated veterinary school at the University of Minnesota in 2016. She spent 5 years in mixed and equine practice and joined the team at Dakota Pet in September 2021. Her interests include preventative medicine, surgery and canine athletes. Outside of work Dr. Reinicke enjoys spending time with family including her husband, a border collie named Taiga and a mischievous cat named Leo. She also has 3 chickens and 15-30 colonies of honey bees. Winter is one of her favorite seasons and she and Taiga can be found out on the Nordic ski trails gliding through the snow.
Dr. Eva Reinicke joined our practice in September of 2021 and comes from a mixed background of large and small animal medicine. When at work, Eva is very focused on her patients and prioritizes Fear Free practices to ensure her patients are always as comfortable as she can make them. Not only does she care deeply about your pets physical and emotional health, she brings an emphasis to the animal/human bond we share with our pets.

Dr. Eva is very easy going and detail oriented. She is careful not to miss anything and is an excellent communicator with her clients, making sure they have a full understanding of their pets health and needs. As with all our committed veterinary professionals, Dr. Reinicke is dedicated to her continuing education and is always interested in learning something new.

When not at work, you can find Eva outdoors, running, being active and skijoring with her dog. She also coaches the Northfield High School Nordic Ski Team. Dr. Reinicke is also a honey bee veterinarian and owns her own small practice that you can check out here ---> www.northlandhoneybeevet.com . Eva makes apiary calls out to colonies to help diagnose and treat honey bee disease but her favorite part of bee keeping is raising queens. She and her husband also have a flock of chickens that they have raised from chicks! We love our diverse team at Dakota Pet Hospital and we are proud to work along side Dr. Reinicke!
